Stress is most often linked to mental and emotional factors, but what is often not talked about is the physical strain that stress can have on a person.
There are many symptoms and signs that appear on and within the physical body and when a person faces long-term stress, the symptoms can become even more severe.
When stress arises, the body goes into fight or flight mode and does what it can to protect itself.
Here are some physical symptoms that can appear:
Lump sensation in the throat
Weight gain or weight loss
Changes to your period
Distorted eye sight or soreness in the eyes
High blood pressure
Skin problems (eczema, psoriasis, etc)
Sweating more than usual
If you feel like you may be experiencing physical symptoms of stress, it may be a good idea to speak to someone.
