Combatting Loneliness as a Sexual Trauma Survivor

It is completely understandable that you may feel lonely after experiencing sexual trauma. You have faced an extremely difficult and harmful experience that can cause a downward spiral into a world of loneliness and isolation.

It is difficult to speak up about sexual trauma because there is so many challenges you may face while doing so.

Whether that is:

🔹 Stigma

🔹 Knowing the perpetrator and facing the chance of seeing them again

🔹 Fear of causing pain to people you love

🔹 Blackmail from the perpetrator

🔹 Lack of energy to socialise

🔹 Self-destructive beliefs, such as “it was all my fault”

🔹 Lack of trust in others

🔹 Difficulty to hold on to and build relationships

And more…

All of these reasons are completely valid, but how can we combat this loneliness?

On the 23d January, StrengtheningHER are opening up our brand new Facebook group in hopes of helping you combat loneliness.

It can be much easier to speak up when the person you are speaking to knows what you are going through and has a similar experience. That understanding between one another is just one way of feeling less alone, less “crazy”, and may even push you in the right direction for healing.

The StrengtheningHER facebook group is for women who have experienced sexual trauma and want to begin healing. Not only are you able to talk to others about the challenges you are facing, but you are also able to provide advice that you have learned too.

(Please note that all posts will be sent for approval to ensure safety).

Likewise, the group will also combat loneliness and other post-trauma challenges through:

🔹 Workbooks

🔹 Breath-work animation

🔹 Breath-work tracks

🔹 Meditation videos

🔹 Meditation tracks

🔹 Activities such as wordsearches

🔹 Quotes & inspirational stories

And so much more…

We are passionate about helping you in your healing journey, such as combatting loneliness. Likewise, we are creating this safe space in hopes to Strengthen and Help you to Empower your Resilience.
