Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, this time of year can be difficult.
We know that it can feel like there are triggers everywhere around this season, and you can feel like you are drowning, trust us... you are not alone in that. This time of year isn't about making yourself uncomfortable and forcing yourself to face your fears...
There is so much pressure to be sociable, drink alcohol, and to do all of the "fun things" like ice skating and going out with friends, and especially with the rise of social media it can be really hard to believe that people are not always having the best time. We can easily be fooled into thinking our holiday season is not what it should be, but there is no one way you "should" be spending this season.
This time of year is about being happy, and if that means you take a step back from being sociable, leaving before Christmas dinner, or staying inside where it's warm... whatever it is you need to do to get through the holidays, do it (within reason!)
Stop putting so much pressure on yourself, you are doing better than you think, and deserve to spend the holidays the way that you want to.
Practice self-care, speak to someone you love, listen to uplifting music... ensure that you take care of yourself this holiday season.
Take a breath.
You are enough just as you are.
