5 Easy Ways to Begin Your Self-Growth Journey

Have you ever had those moments where you think “I want to really take care of myself and work on myself” and you have a sudden rush of motivation but when it comes to actually starting it, you just don’t know where to begin? us too...

There are so many tips out there that it can be overwhelming when you are just starting your self-growth journey. So, we want to simplify it and help you in your first steps…

Here are 5 easy ways to begin your self-growth journey:

1. Change your inner voice:

One factor that has a huge impact on your self-growth is the way you speak to yourself. We are all guilty of telling ourselves that we aren’t good enough, pretty enough, or that we lack the ability to do something… but one of the most important things you can do for yourself is to catch yourself when you start to say these things and fight them.

When you hear “I’m not good enough”, fight it with “I AM good enough

Write them down if you have to... do whatever helps to change that inner voice and give yourself the respect that you deserve.

2. Affirmations everywhere:

We don’t know about you, but we love a good quote…

Affirmations are very similar but are more like statements that resonate with yourself, such as 'I am enough', 'I am open to new opportunities' and, 'I accept what i can't change'.

The more you read them, the more effective they are.

So, write them down on post it notes and stick them around your room, on your mirror, and set them as your phone wallpapers, or tell them to yourself every morning when you look in the mirror.

Say them, write them, save them until you believe them!

3. Start a gratitude journal:

Journaling can be quite overwhelming especially when you are just beginning, so we have a really simple solution.

Every day, either when you wake up, before you go to sleep, or both, write down 3 things that you are grateful for. This is a less overwhelming way of reflecting on what is good in your life which ultimately improves your mood and makes you more self-aware.

4. Change up your environment:

Your environment is one of the most important factors into how you feel. If your room is messy, your mind will be messy...

Likewise, when we are stuck in the same environment for so long, we often become less motivated.

So, simply changing up your space, maybe adding a new colour into your room or moving your furniture around...

Whatever it may be, boost your motivation by giving your environment a little spruce!

5. You are who you surround yourself with:

When you decide to go on this self-growth journey, it is important to reflect on who is around you.

  • Are the people around you motivating you?

  • Are they inspiring you?

  • Are they wanting the best out of you?

if not, then cut them off!

The people around you should be motivating you and have good morals... you are a reflection of the people who let into your life.
